Am I the only one who thought wirt was gonna date human Beatrice at the end? 😭

In this universe Wirt didn't have the courage to leave the house and give the cassette to Sara, but because of Wirt's fear Beatrice wasn't able to save her family, the Woodsman wasn't able to stop the Beast, and Gregory was consumed by the forest. Because Wirt was afraid, he never had the chance to help those who needed him.

I ask this because i have not seen this miniseries in a while and i have forgotten when the actual show takes, i have read wirt's wiki and it says cassette making was popular back in the 1970s or 1980s, but i don't think it works as evidence as to when the modern setting for the show is, also i mean like where the final 2 episodes show before wirt and greg's adventure into the unknown.

So I think that The Unknown is a realm like Wanda created in WandaVision, where when you get sucked in you must play your part like the Beast says. But Greg and Wirt are outsiders to the realm- they weren't in the area when it was created. So when they enter, they still possess full control of themselves, but the Beast is constantly wearing them down, trying to force them to do what he wants. And when he died, the realm collapsed, and that's why the woodman's daughter was alive etc.
