"Yeah!"

—The baker addressing Wirt and Greg upon being identified by the midwife.

The baker is a character who appears in "Songs of the Dark Lantern".

Appearance[]

The baker is a small man who wears a blue cap, a white coat, a light blue apron, and gray pants. He has messy brown hair.

Personality[]

Although the baker appears only for a short duration, he can generally be described as amicable and welcoming towards Wirt and Greg. He joins the other tavern folk in their excitement concerning the wedding, and expresses pride (or at least happy acknowledgement) when named by profession.

History[]

The baker was at the tavern when Wirt, Gregory, and Beatrice arrived there. He was pointed out in the toymaker's "A Courting Song". Like the other tavern folk, the baker is never seen outside of the tavern.

Trivia[]

  • In "A Courting Song" it is implied that the baker and the patissier would have worked together to create a cake for the wedding if Wirt was getting married.
  • Although the voice actor for the baker is unknown, it is likely that either Frank Fairfield or Jerron Paxton voiced the character as both actors provided "additional voices" for the episode.
  • Since baked goods are often easy to produce and high in carbohydrates, the baker would have provided an essential service to The Dark Lantern by providing bread for the tavern's meals.
  • It can be assumed that the bread which was served to Wirt and Greg during their stop at The Dark Lantern was prepared by the baker.

References[]

  • The baker's name is a reference to the real-world occupation of baking. Bakers in real life prepare food that does not need to be directly exposed to flame. Baking usually involves flour and it's products include bread, cake, and muffins.
